Wu Yu and Abdumalik Khalokov are among the gold medallists in Guiyang

Olympic Champions as China’s Wu Yu and Uzbekistan’s Abdumalik Khalokov earned gold medals at the second stage of the World Boxing Cup in Guiyang, China today.

Altogether 299 boxers are participating for the 20 gold medals in China where all of the top countries, Olympic Champions and Word Champions are participating this week.

India produced several stars in the women’s 48kg including the record-breaking Chungneijang Mary Kom Hmangte and their Jyoti Gulia continued the traditions in Guiyang where she defeated Uzbekistan’s Farzona Fozilova unanimously.

China’s Olympic Games winner Wu Yu defeated India’s Minakshi in the final of the women’s 51kg while the next Indian, Prachi lost to Uzbekistan’s Nigina Uktamova at the 57kg while Brazil’s Beatriz Ferreira made a fantastic golden debut at the 65kg.

Kazakhstan’s multiple World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay and Italy’s Sirine Charaabi defeated several top boxers during their road to the finals of the 54kg. The 33-year-old Kazakh has just moved up to this weight class but she had the speed to catch Charaabi with great combinations.

Kazakhstan’s Asian Champion Viktoriya Grafeyeva had a hard mission in the final of the women1s 60kg weight class but she found the way to beat Chinese Taipei’s Olympic Games winner Lin Yu Ting in Guiyang.

China’s Olympic bronze medallist Yang Liu is 13-years-older than France’s European Youth Champion Maelys Richol but she had to work hard from the first seconds until the last to beat her opponent at the 70kg final. Her teammate, Bao Ziyi claimed the next gold medal after beating Canada's World Champion, the returning Tammara Thibeault at the 75kg.

Definitely, Uzbekistan’s Olympic Games winner Abdumalik Khalokov and Brazil’s Luiz Gabriel Oliveira are the best boxers at the 60kg in the whole globe. The Uzbek used his unpredictable movements to beat the South American opponent in a superb final bout.

Kazakhstan’s World Champion Ablaikhan Zhussupov returned to the squad and he defeated India’s Deepak with confidence at the 70kg. Azerbaijan’s ex-Uzbek star, Saidjamshid Jafarov outperformed Bulgaria’s European Champion Rami Kiwan to take the title of the 75kg.

Uzbekistan’s duo, Javokhir Ummataliyev and Turabek Khabibullayev continued their winning paths, while France’s European U23 Champion Junior Tadah stopped Italy’s young surprise, Paolo Caruso at the 85kg.

Kazakhstan’s defending World Champion at the super heavyweight, Aibek Oralbay had a full focus in the final to beat Germany’s Nikita Putilov while United States’ Lorenzo Patricio and France’s Hugo Grau also earned gold medals in Guiyang.
