
Tyni, Sigajev, Ekblom-Olsson, Padii, and Kermas were among the gold medallists at the Tallinn Open Tournament
Next to the European U17 Boxing Championships and the Art of NextGen Box Cup, Estonia’s main international event, the Tallinn Open Tournament for both genders featured in the recent days.

Altogether 121 boxers from several top countries competed in the Tallinn Open Tournament and the competition took place for the U15, U17, U19 and elite boxers in Estonia.
Latvia’s U15 hope in the event, Polina Jursa bagged the first female gold medal of the entire competition, she defeated Estonia’s Ivanna Vinogradova at the 48kg final.
Finland’s Anna Tyni was too experienced for Estonia’s Jelizaveta Tuboleva and the referee stopped their elite 57kg final bout. Another Finish elite female boxer, Sofia Riikonen also dominated her final fight against an Estonian hope, Elizabeth Kirss and she took the title of the 48kg weight class.
Rolan Sigajev was one of the top names in the U15 age group and he stopped Andrey Fedyaev in their 48kg final bout. Israel’s Alan Tilishevski, Estonia’s Denis Bolshakov, Finland’s Aleksi Lindgren and Latvia’s Prohors Grisunins all impressed in the U15 part of the Tallinn Open Tournament.
Sweden’s U19 national team member, Wilmer Ekblom Olsson competed at the recent European U19 Boxing Championships in Loznica, Serbia and he returned to the international stage in Tallinn. The 17-year-old Swedish boxer controlled all of the three rounds against Veeti Vaehaetiitto and he claimed the gold medal at the 65kg weight class.
Aapo Rovanperae competed in the U19 World Boxing Championships in Pueblo two years ago and now he is Finland’s elite and U23 hope for the future events. The youngster had a hard job against his teammate, Amon Geovanilson Goncalves, but with a better finish, he was able to earn the title of the elite 65kg in Tallinn.
Israel’s Nikita Padii earned a silver medal in the annual National Championships but he received the right to compete international events in Armenia and in Estonia. The 19-year-old Israeli boxer had the advantage on the scorecards against Estonia’s Vladislav Hairov after one round and following two counts, the referee confirmed his RSC success in the 80kg final.
Finland’s Jimi Noioso won the close 75kg final bout against Israel’s Khaled Elzbarka while Estonia’s Leon Kermas was confident against the Helsinki-based Nikolas Bailey in the 85kg title contest.
