The Serik Sapiyev Prizes Tournament will be held for the U16 boxers in Kazakhstan on October 18-25

The Serik Sapiyev Prizes Tournament for the U16 female and male boxers will be held in Karagandy, Kazakhstan on October 18-25.

The boxers who were born in 2011 and in 2012 are eligible to participate in the Serik Sapiyev Prizes Tournament this October.

The main goal of the event is to find new talents and support to increase the international experience of these young 14 and 15-year-old talents.

The girls can compete in 14 weight categories in the event: 44kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg.

The boys will be able to participate also in 14 weight divisions in Karagandy: 44kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg.

The organizers of Serik Sapiyev Prizes Tournament are the Karaganda Regional Boxing Federation and the Department of Sports of the Karaganda Region.

Mr. Serik Sapiyev was Kazakhstan’s national boxing icon between 2005 and 2012 who earned gold medals in all of the major championships. He bagged a title at the London 2012 Olympic Games where he was awarded the best boxer trophy, the Val Barker Award as well. He won the World Elite Championships in 2005 and in 2007, the Asian Games in 2010 and the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships twice during his career.
