The boxing city of Budva is ready to host the U19 World Boxing Championships on October 13-28

Montenegro’s boxing city, Budva is ready to host the U19 World Boxing Championships on October 13-28 this year and around 600 boxers are expected to participate on it.

The President of the Boxing Association of Montenegro, the energetic Mr. Alexander Klemenko is an enthusiasm in our sport and he supports the boxing world hosting several top events every year.

Boxers from the 2008 and the 2009 age groups are eligible to participate in the U19 World Boxing Championships in Budva this year.

The World Boxing’s first major event was the U19 World Boxing Championships on October 2024 and the US city of Pueblo hosted that historic competition but the next Budva’s edition will be at least three-times bigger in terms of size and number of participating nations.

Montenegro is very busy hosting international events and their top competition was the Youth World Boxing Cup, the 35th Adriatic Pearl this March which followed their Elite Montenegro Cup in the boxing city of Budva immediately.  

Kazakhstan became the best nations in the men’s finals at the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament in Budva less than two months ago but Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Serbia, Cuba, Ukraine and Romania also earned titles in Montenegro’s boxing city.

The boxing city of Budva hosted Youth World Boxing Championships, European Women’s Boxing Championships, European Cup, European Youth Boxing Championships and many other events in the recent six busy years.

Budva is a real boxing city which is located off the coast of the Adriatic Sea and it is famous of its Mediterranean lifestyle, beautiful old town and unique atmosphere.

The first competition day of the U19 World Boxing Championships will be October 16 according to the current plans and the finals are scheduled to take place on October 27.

Montenegro will host also the European U17 Boxing Championships on October 1-11 which will follow the U19 World Boxing Championships a few days later.
