Team USA made a clean sweep at the World Boxing Cup in Brazil on Day2

The US boxers made a clean sweep in the second day of boxing at the World Boxing Cup in Foz da Iguacu, Brazil where they earned five victories. The host of the first stage of the World Boxing Cup is the picturesque Foz da Iguacu where such top nations as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, United States, France, China, England, Japan, Italy, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Poland, Romania, Morocco, Hungary, Venezuela, Tajikistan, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Canada, Spain, Ireland and many others are on the board. Poland’s Angelika Krysztoforska had a few international medals in the second part of the 2010s and she returned to the national team at the 48kg. She moved down three categories but Krysztoforska looked confident against Hungary’s European U23 runner-up Lilla Szeleczki on Day2. Germany’s Olympian Maxi Kloetzer opened the year in style and she had the strong performance to beat a local talent, Brazil’s Radija De Gama. Dominican Republic’s Esther Jimenez and Morocco’s Yasmine Moutaki both advanced to the next round in the women’s 51kg weight class. Hungary’s Vladislava Kukhta defeated her Kiwi opponent on Day1 and she made one of the top surprises of the second day when she eliminated Poland’s Olympic silver medallist Julia Szeremeta turning back that contest. Brazil’s Olympian Jucielen Romeu had a hectic contest against France’s Sthelyne Grosy but she managed to win this bout by 3:2 split decision. Mexico’s Guadelupe Torres and Japan’s Riko Yamada also made remarkable performances at the women’s 57kg. Chinese Taipei’s Wu Shih Yi, the Olympic bronze medallist, moved down to the 57kg and she used her distance better than China’s Cai Yan to win one of the tightest contests of the second day of boxing in Foz da Iguacu. Turkey’s European Champion Samet Gumus and France’s Olympics silver medallist returning Billal Bennama had a fantastic battle and the first won their meeting at the 55kg. Romania’s Daniel Florin Girleanu turned back his preliminary bout against Brazil’s Michael Trindade using his strength in the last round. Germany’s Ali El Sari had a tough and technician opponent in the session, Canada’s Max Tomines but he prepared well against his rival and he delivered another sensation in Foz da Iguacu to beat his North American rival at the men’s 55kg. Dominican Republic’s Fredelin De Los Santos eliminated a strong Mexican hope, Christopher Santos at the 55kg while Armenia’s Zhirayr Sargsyan, Australia’s Jye Dixon and Tajikistan’s Meroj Sufijonov also had the great victories on Day2. The US boxers impressed on Day2, Alyssa Mendoza, Marie-Angelis Rosendo, the super talented Lorenzo Patricio, Marcus Luther and the super heavyweight star, Kelvin Watts all advanced to the next round in Foz da Iguacu.
