Bulgaria’s best female U17 athlete, Valya Nikolaeva was a medal favourite in Budva and she started well against Czech Republic’s Aneta Novakova in the first round. The Czech 48kg boxer stepped into the gas in the second round and she could turn back their exciting Round of 16 contest.
Poland’s 16-year-old Aleksandra Lipniak was a quarterfinalist at the 2025 edition of the European U17 Boxing Championships in Kienbaum where she boxed in the 46kg weight class. The Polish girl had the routine to build up the best strategy against Germany’s Laura Lipfert and she marched to the quarter-finals of the 48kg.
Scotland’s Jenna Dailly competed in several events in the recent two and half years but her career highlight is a bronze from the recent European U15 Boxing Championships. The Scottish girl felt the tempo against Georgia’s Elena Gremelashvili and she won the next 48kg preliminary bout in Budva.
Estonia’s Alissa Gerassimovits had a difficult first round against Sweden’s Fatima Salame but she changed her rhythm in time to win their 48kg preliminary contest unanimously. Ukraine’s Oleksandra Mishchenko was too experienced for Belgium’s Selena Lo Bue and she delivered a top performance in this weight class.
Serbia’s Jana Nataros and Georgia’s Anastasia Jolokhava had an exciting Round of 16 bout at the women’s 50kg weight class in the afternoon session. The Georgian proved her strong development in all aspects of boxing but Nataros had the right actions in the first and second rounds to take a victory for Serbia.
Spain’s historic European U15 gold medallist Adriana Munoz spends her first year among the U17 boxers but she is at least a medal favourite in Budva. The Spaniard did not maintain the best fighting distance against Germany’s Amalie Mueller but the from the second round, she worked well enough to turn back their 50kg preliminary.
Poland’s Amelia Urban began her international career with two European Schoolgirl titles but in the U17 age group she could not repeat that level. The Polish was still competitive in the first round for Ukraine’s Maria Rafalska but her opponent dominated the second and the referee stopped the bout in the third.
Letitia McKee demonstrated her strength in the first round against Armenia’s Yeva Grigoryan when four of the judges favoured 10:8 the English talent. The Armenian was not able to switch into a different tempo and she had issues to avoid McKee’s punches therefore the English managed her easy path to the quarter-finals at the 54kg.
Spain’s Zoe Montero claimed a bronze medal in the last edition of the European U15 Boxing Championships and she returned to Budva after one year. The Spaniard had the height advantage against the 15-year-old Melissa Cavaliere but her Italian opponent used her speed to beat Montero at the 54kg preliminary today.
Azerbaijan’s Alsu Yafarova spent a bit more than one minute in the ring today when the referee confirmed her RSC triumph over Belarus’ Hanna Beliankova at the women’s 54kg. Her teammate, Fidan Bakarova was not able to repeat that performance and she suffered a loss to Greece’s Dimitra Karpozilou at the 63kg.
Germany’s Mara Eichhorn had an inexperienced opponent from Croatia, the U17 National Champion Vita Superina who made her international debut in Budva. The German landed the decisive punches immediately and she won this Round of 16 battle by RSC within less than one minute.
Czech Republic’s European U15 bronze medallist Rozalie Uhrova knew her Hungarian opponent Dorina Varga and she landed the stronger punches in the first round. The referee counted the 15-year-old Hungarian twice in the second round which was an automatic RSC triumph for Uhrova.
Germany’s Aliyah Zeynab Ibrahim faced Belarus’ Lizaveta Kapyl, who claimed bronze medal at the 2025 Botvinnik Junior Memorial Tournament and she was a silver medallist at the 2025 European Junior Boxing Championships. The German dictated the tempo, she felt the distance and she won all of the three rounds in their women’s 57kg preliminary bout.
