Another Rustemovski from the country, Arabel was outstanding against Belarus’ Yaraslau Sliapets and he won their 60kg preliminary contest today.
England’s Charlie Keet was a hard target for Bulgaria’s Maxim Mihaylov and he had the technician performance to control their 60kg bout from the first seconds. The English had the full focus in the third rounds as well and his fantastic counter-attacks reached the target several times to secure his spot in the quarter-finals.
Italy’s Raul Barone is one of the most experienced in their U17 national team but he had a serious height disadvantage against Belarus’ Daniil Mikheichanka in their 66kg meeting. The 16-year-old Italian was patient in the first round, and he caught his Belarusian opponent with heavy combinations in the second to win their contest by RSC.
Hungary’s Hunor Asztalos had the dominance over Poland’s Oskar Salaga in the first round and he took the lead on the judges’ scorecards after two minutes of fight. The 16-year-old Polish made strong pressure in the second and third rounds against the exhausting Hungarian therefore Salaga turned back their Round of 16 bout at the 66kg.
Azerbaijan’s Yusif Hasanli was stronger in the exchanges than Croatia’s Lukas Fulanovic and he joined the quarter-finals of the 66kg weight category.
