Rogalinska, Cirkovic, Santos and Surmeneli won key female contests at the World Boxing Cup Brazil on Day3

Poland’s Wiktoria Rogalinska, Serbia’s Sara Cirkovic, Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli and Brazil’s Rebeca Santos won key female contests at the World Boxing Cup in Foz da Iguacu, Brazil on Day3. The host of the first stage of the World Boxing Cup is the picturesque Foz da Iguacu where such top nations as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, United States, France, China, England, Japan, Italy, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Poland, Romania, Morocco, Hungary, Venezuela, Tajikistan, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Canada, Spain, Ireland and many others are on the board. Poland’s Wiktoria Rogalinska has already nine years of international routine but she was not the favourite against Kazakhstan’s multiple World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay. The Kazakh star moved up to the 54kg in this event but Rogalinska surprised her with effective punches and strategy on Day3. Serbia’s Sara Cirkovic used her punctual attacks to beat Brazil’s Tatiana Chagas at the women’s 54kg but China’s newcomer Gan Yunman, Canada’s Panamerican Champion Scarlett Delgado and Morocco’s World Champion Widad Bertal all marched to the quarter-finals in this weight. Brazil’s defending World Champion at the women’s 60kg, Rebeca Santos had to do her very best to beat Turkey’s Gizem Ozer while other stars as Kosovo’s Donjeta Sadiku, Serbia’s Kristina Kuluhova, and Kazakhstan’s Viktoriya Grafeyeva also managed their pathways to the last eight. Turkey’s Olympic Champion Busenaz Surmeneli eliminated one of her main rivals, Kazakhstan’s Asian Champion Natalya Bogdanova at the women’s 70kg which saw Mexico’s Citlalli Ortiz, Poland’s Barbara Marcinkowska, China’s Yang Liu, Germany’s Leonie Mueller and England’s Chantelle Reid to shine on Day3. Brazil’s Luiz Gabriel Oliveira was exceptional in all of his events in this Olympic cycle and the World medallist star eliminated his neighbour, Uruguay’s Lucas Fernandez before France’s Lounes Hamraoui defeated Poland’s Pawel Brach at the men’s 60kg. Kyrgyzstan’s Olympic silver medallist Munarbek Seiitbek Uulu won his recent international event, the Ahmet Comert Tournament in Istanbul and he continued his winning path against Armenia’s Artur Bazeyan at the 60kg in Brazil. Canada’s Panamerican Games bronze medallist Keoma Al Ahmadieh controlled all of the three rounds with perfect performance against Italy’s Michele Baldassi in the next top bout of the men’s 60kg. Keoma’s sister, Marie Al Ahmadieh also succeeded on Day3, she eliminated a US girl, Alisha Crockett at the women’s 60kg. Japan’s former World Champion Sewon Okazawa was one of the stars at the men’s 70kg weight class but Kazakhstan’s Farukh Tokhtassunov delivered the next sensation on Day3 when he eliminated the two-time Olympian Japanese No.1. Austria’s Arsen Chabyan made a classical KO against Sweden’s Kevin Scott at the busy 70kg in Foz da Iguacu where Poland’s European Champion Damian Durkacz eliminated a top Kyrgyz talent, Ikhtiyar Nishonov.
