Ramirez with split decision victory over Richards, defends WBA Interim title

Albert Ramirez (23-0, 19 KO) defended his WBA Interim World light-heavyweight title with a split decision victory over Lerrone Richards (19-2, 4 KOs).

It was the main fight of the card promoted on Thursday night in Montreal by Eye of the Tiger.

Two judges scored the fight 115:113 in favor of Ramirez, and one saw Richards as winner (116:112).

Richards in a social media post said he was unhappy with the decision and that he thinks he won the fight.

In co-main event Imam Khataev (12-1) stopped Mickael Diallo (21-3-2) in round one. Khataev and Diallo both were down in first round.
