Punrawee Ruenros and Chen Nien Chin are now two-time Asian Champions

Thailand’s Punrawee Ruenros and Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien Chin are now two-time Asian Champions after the female finals of the Asian Elite Boxing Championships all are concluded in Ulaanbaatar. India’s Minakshi eliminated Thailand’s Thipsatcha Yodwaree in the semi-finals of the women’s 48kg weight class and she was too experienced for Mongolia’s young hopeful, Nomundari Enkh-Amgalan in the final. China’s No.1, the Olympic Games winner Wu Yu used the last year as strong preparations for the busy year of 2026. She controlled all of her contests in Ulaanbaatar with her technical superiority, including the final of the 51kg against DPR Korea’s An Kum Byol. India’s Preeti Pawar was not the favourite against Chinese Taipei’s Huang Hsiao Wen but she bagged the title of the 54kg. Her teammate, the tall Priya had also a surprise gold medal at the 60kg after a close success over DPR Korea’s Won Un Gyong. Thailand’s defending Asian Champion, Punrawee Ruenros was too smart for Tajikistan’s Olympian Mizhgona Samadova in the semi-finals and she had the same successful strategy against India’s Jaismine Lamboriya in the final of the 57kg. Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien Chin claimed medals already in all of the big events but she had to wait for her first Asian title until 2022. Chen had a strong opponent in the final of the women’s 65kg but she managed to beat DPR Korea’s Hwang Hyo Sun. India’s Arundhati Choudhary had a tight success over Kazakhstan’s Asian Youth Champion Bakyt Seidish who progressed a lot in this event. China’s second gold medal in the event was achieved by Bao Ziyi who had a split decision success over Uzbekistan’s Aziza Zokirova at the 75kg. Kazakhstan earned the titles in the two heaviest weight categories, firstly Nadezhda Ryabets defeated Uzbekistan’s Rukhshona Parpiyeva, secondly Dina Islambekova defeated India’s Alfiya Pathan at the +80kg.
