Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay defended his super heavyweight title in Ulaanbaatar

Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay became the lone male boxer at the Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar, who defended his throne. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Japan and Jordan claimed the gold medals in the men’s finals today. Bhutan, China, DPR Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam were the 21 participating nations in Ulaanbaatar. Kazakhstan’s reigning World Champion, the 19-year-old Torekhan Sabyrkhan is one of the biggest stars of the future and he recovered from his knee injury. The young Kazakh lost to Jordan’s veteran Zeyad Eshaish in the final this time but he has the full focus on the Asian Games this year. Among the best Uzbek boxers, the World Champion Fazliddin Erkinboyev controlled his final over Jordan’s Hussein Iashaish at the 80kg weight class. His younger teammate, the Youth World Champion Khalimjon Mamasoliyev won his first major elite title at the 90kg following his success over Tajikistan’s lone finalist, Parviz Karimov. Kazakhstan’s World Champion Nurbek Oralbay had a sensational final against Uzbekistan’s Jasurbek Yuldashev and he succeeded at the 85kg. His twin brother, Aibek, defended his Asian elite throne at the super heavyweight against China’s Xinjiang-based Danabieke Bayikewuzi.
