Joshua survives two knockdowns, stops Prenga in round two

Anthony Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) was dropped twice by Kristian Prenga (20-2, 20 KOs) in round one but managed to survive the round and make an impressive comeback to stop the Albanian in round two in the fight held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Prenga dropped Joshua in opening seconds of first round and he controlled the round. Former two-time unified heavyweight champion was down also later in round one. But in round two he took control with his jab and he stopped Prenga 2:43 in round two.

With his victory now fight between Joshua and Fury looks set. Promoter Eddie Hearn said that everything is signed.

"It's done. We signed a legally binding contract about three months ago," Hearn said.

"There's a reason that we put contracts together. There's a reason AJ employs lawyers, there's a reason that me and him sit down and have endless conversations to make sure every move is correct.

"We insisted that this fight was in the UK. I know AJ will sometimes want to be a peace-keeper, but the reality is he said to me 'I want the fight in the UK.'"

The show in Jeddah had two world title fights. Hamzah Sheeraz (24-0-1) defended his WBO World super-middleweight title, defeating Simon Zachenhuber (29-2) by majority decision (116:112, 114:114 and 115:113).

Josh Kelly (19-1-1) defended his IBF World super-welter title defeating by unanimous decision Caoimhin Agyarko (18-1).
