Gassiev stops Kadiru, defends WBA title

Murat Gassiev (34-2, 27 KO) defended his WBA World heavyweight title, stopping on Saturday night in Moscow, Peter Kadiru (23-2, 13 KOs) in round six.

Gassiev won the WBA regular title in December last year, defeating Kubrat Pulev by stoppage in round six.

Kadiru was late replacement, after Tony Yoka was forced to withdraw due to back injury.

In co-main event Artem Suslenkov (15-0, 10 KOs) stopped Joe Joyce (16-5, 15 KOs) in round 11 in fight for WBA Continental heavyweight title. Joyce in round 11 raised his hand up indicating that he can’t continue.
