Dream finals will be held in the Asian Games

Some of the dream finals have realized in the ninth competition day at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan where the first part of the semi-finals are concluded.

Altogether 34 nations have entered to the boxing event of the Asian Games and eleven champions will be crowned in Japan. The number of the female boxers is 76 in five divisions, while 119 male athletes will fight in six categories.

The women boxers are able to compete at the 51kg, 54kg, 60kg, 65kg and 75kg weight categories, while the men’s divisions are the 55kg, 60kg, 70kg, 80kg, 90kg and +90kg.

Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, DPR Korea, Indonesia, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Yemen are the registered teams to the Asian Games.

DPR Korea’s Pang Chol Mi is one of the aces in the women’s competition at the Asian Games and the World Champion controlled all of the three rounds against China’s Zhao Xuan at the women’s 54kg semi-final.

The experienced DPR Korean boxer will now meet for the title of the weight class Thailand’s Asian Champion Natnicha Chongprongklang who had a tight success over Japan’s Olympic Games bronze medallist Tsukimi Namiki.

Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien Chin earned medals in all of the big events and she had the routine to beat DPR Korea’s Hwang Hyo Sun in the semi-finals of the tough women’s 65kg weight category therefore she will face India’s Parveen Hooda for the title.

Uzbekistan’s Paris Olympic Champion and the defending Asian Games winner Abdumalik Khalokov used his excellent technical skills once again to beat Japan’s promising Shunsuke Kitamoto in the last four of the men’s 60kg weight class and he will be meeting with South Korea’s Jang Dong Hwan for the title.

South Korea’s next sensation, Kim Min Seong defeated Jordan’s three-time Olympian Hussein Iashaish and he became his nation’s second finalist in the Games. Kim will be boxing for the title of the men’s 80kg weight class with India’s Ankush Panghal who also made a strong surprise in Aichi-Nagoya.

Kazakhstan’s reigning World Champion Aibek Oralbay was dominant against India’s veteran Narender Berwal therefore the dream final in the +90kg weight class has realized with Uzbekistan’s multiple Asian Champion Jakhongir Zokirov.
